The Post Loop Widget can be placed in any row or page, usually displaying the latest news and events on the homepage.

Note: This widget is dynamic and will show posts as soon as they are published, the most recent first. You will need to create posts in chronological order to use this widget.

We are excited to announce the release of the Post Loop Widget V3, an enhanced tool exclusively designed for the University of Utah community. This new version brings a suite of advanced features to improve how content is displayed across your department's website, making it more engaging and user-friendly.

What's New in V3?

  1. Unified Content Streams: Aggregate multiple post feeds seamlessly from any number of university websites.
  2. Enhanced Interaction: Users can now interact with the entire content card, enhancing accessibility and user engagement.
  3. Visual Flexibility: More image and card height options allow for a tailored visual experience. Opt for bottom-aligned calls to action to maintain aesthetic coherence.
  4. Dynamic Display Options: Choose to display posts in a traditional format or as a visually appealing carousel.
  5. Improved Customization: With additional font options, the ability to sort posts by date or title, and customizable taxonomy display names, you can tailor the look and feel to match your site’s unique style.
  6. Advanced Filters: Conditionally display categories, publication dates, and include an optional 'Display All Posts' button for enhanced navigation.
  7. And much more: Dive into a variety of new functionalities designed to meet your specific needs.

Transition to V3

To ensure the best experience and support, previous versions of the Post Loop Widget will no longer be supported. We encourage all users to upgrade to V3, as it will be the preferred option moving forward. This version not only offers greater flexibility and customization but also aligns with modern web standards to support your site's future growth.

Settings

Name Type Description
Post Type Select Select Internal or External posts to display in the widget.
Layout Select Select the layout for the post loop carousel, Three Posts Carousel (displayed above), Four Posts, Two Small Posts, One Post Carousel, or Custom Layout.
Amount Input Field Input the amount of posts you want displayed per page.
Categories & Tags Input Field Input your category slug names, and tag slug names separated by commas. (Category examples: news, custom-category-slug) (Tag examples: president, university)
